Jason and I were thrilled to attend the Jasper Perth Mobility Focus once again, held at the QT Hotel in October. The event began at noon under clear skies and pleasant weather. Attendees eagerly gathered for an afternoon of engaging discussions and activities, with the sunny, breezy atmosphere reflecting their enthusiasm.
Brainstorm
The event began with dynamic group brainstorming sessions, where we explored creative—and sometimes unconventional—solutions to address current global mobility challenges. These sessions sparked lively conversations, emphasizing the power of collaborative thinking in tackling our industry's complex issues.
Interactions
Throughout the day, we also participated in insightful corporate panel discussions and interactive roundtable sessions. AIRINC proudly hosted two 30-minute roundtables focused on enhancing the employee experience. We shared our recent paper, highlighting nine key areas that contribute to a positive assignee journey. Each roundtable brought together 10 to 12 enthusiastic participants, all eager to exchange ideas and best practices.
Employee Experience Paper
We have identified nine essential focus areas that are instrumental in crafting a positive assignee experience:
- Career Plan
- Right Package
- Clear Communications
- Proper Preparation
- Excellent Vendor Support
- Self Service
- Family-Friendly
- Flexible Choice
Highlights
One of the key insights from our first session was the importance of aligning employee expectations. Employee engagement significantly increases when they comprehend how an opportunity aligns with their long-term objectives. Articulating clear career pathways and objectives is crucial for aligning international assignments with employees’ long-term aspirations. In another discussion, participants shared success stories about using flexible approaches, such as lump sum allowances, to improve relocation satisfaction for employees. These diverse perspectives underscored the value of adaptability in global mobility strategies.
Networking
The event was also a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow mobility professionals, share experiences, and foster new collaborations. A huge thank you to the organiser Jasper and attendees for making this year's Perth Mobility Focus such a memorable experience.
We can't wait to return in 2025 for the next chapter of global mobility innovation!
