What are the trends in China?

This week was eventful for the AIRINC APAC team. On May 9, AIRINC was invited to the 2023 Global Mobility Conference organized by American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Shanghai.

It was the first event AIRINC has attended in China since the start of the pandemic. More than 100 global mobility professionals from both multinational and Chinese companies came together for this full-day event.

Several topics of interest were discussed including China talent and global expansion including strategies, challenges and opportunities for global mobility at Chinese companies. AIRINC was one of the sponsors and had the opportunity to speak about mobility trends and deploying talent practices in APAC, specifically Local Plus.

We like to engage with our audience & get their feedback on hot topics so ran two live polling sessions during our 45-minute presentation - with many willing participants! The use of local plus policies tends to be more prevalent in this region as a lower-cost alternative to expat packages. The results of the polls reinforced the trends we saw from our AIRINC Local Plus benchmark survey. If you are interested in knowing more about the survey or trends for the region, please feel free to reach out to us.

We were excited to connect with so many people at this first global mobility event in Shanghai. We look forward to attending more in-person events in China in the upcoming months!
