Client Challenge #5:

A consumer goods client contacted us seeking help evaluating the impact on an employee transferring to a new country. The compensation in the new country was lower and the client wanted to provide a "settling-in payment" to help the employee acclimate to the new location. However, to do this they needed a tool to help them determine what this payment would be.

Solution:

AIRINC recommended using the Host Pay Calculator to determine the payment. This tool allowed the client to compare home vs. host salaries to better understand the income tax and cost differences the employee will face. With this additional knowledge, the client was able to easily determine the required "settling-in payment" to make the transition to the local salary easy for the employee.

Understanding the pay situation enabled the client to have more informed discussions with the employees, and to present an attractive compensation package, thus achieving their goal of successfully transferring the employee to a new country.
