On February 6th, AIRINC and our partners at K2 gathered with mobility leaders at the Skybar in Saint Lazare, Paris, for an engaging and interactive roundtable. The session opened with a compelling presentation on policy trends by by Helen Squibb from K2’s Global Mobility Advisory Team. Helen not only shared key insights and facilitated a discussion on policy options but also introduced concise “hot topics,” including the core/flex approach in policy design, aligning global mobility with the talent agenda, and exploring technology solutions for GM teams.
Our discussion on housing policies underscored the importance of benchmarking in today’s evolving mobility landscape. We explored various approaches to home housing assistance before departure, temporary housing, and host housing solutions. The diverse perspectives shared—both from benchmark data and the experiences around the table—highlighted the critical need to reassess current policies. Why do certain companies favor one approach over another? What are the trade-offs? These conversations provided a valuable opportunity for mobility professionals to challenge assumptions and refine their strategies.
Despite being a long-standing component of home-based balance sheet policies, COLA remains a hot topic. Its role in ensuring employee purchasing power across locations makes it a cornerstone of effective mobility programs. The level of interest—and passion—surrounding COLA discussions reaffirmed its significance. Attendees explored best practices, the latest trends, and how organizations are adapting to economic shifts and inflationary pressures.
